I really resonated with this! Especially when you called yourself out for being the “ghosting friend” (me too😔). It’s really helped me to view friendships as relationships that need just as much work as, if not more than, romantic relationships to maintain. As I’ve grown older, I’ve started appreciating my friendships so much more, too, maybe because they become more rare and precious.
Thank you for reading! I’m glad you were able to make connections with this, and I’ve been having the same realization. Maturing really opens our eyes and friendships are one of the most important and meaningful loves we’ll experience in our lives. The effort is sooo worth it, and sometimes it seems like a tall order, but we got this!
I'm a big Insecure fan, but I've never watched Sex and the city, but I enjoyed reading every part of this.
This also came at a great time for me because I've been thinking about intentionality in friendships and trying to understand how I want to navigate my friendships in adulthood, just like you said. This has made me see the importantance of speaking kindly (even when delivering harsh truths) and boundaries.
I’m happy to hear that this resonates with you! I feel like we all have patterns in our friendships that we’re accustomed to, and they aren’t always the healthiest, but it’s never too late to try and be better. It’s comforting to know that many of us are going through the same things, and I have faith we will all get where we want to be from the power of intent. Thank you so much for reading!
I‘ve read this down in like a sec, loved it. My mother once told me, that every relationship is a choice and every choice must come with intent, like you have to think about who you are, what you need and what you are able to give&receive. Knowing that you can always communicate what you want and need you are also giving the other person a choice. I’s liberating knowing that the other person is wanting to stay or to leave. Thank you !! 🫂
